*Healing Hearts VA currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem, Carefirst, Cigna, FEP BCBS, BCBS of Capital Area, United Health Care/Optum, and Aetna insurance. The practice does not accept EAP.
For non-carriers of accepted insurances, individual therapy fees are $105.00 for the initial intake session, and $125.00 per session for every session following the intake. Resident counselors are $90.00 per session. If you have an HSA, flexible spending account, or medical savings account, you may use these funds to pay for therapy.
Another option is to contact your insurance company and ask if you have benefits for an "out-of-network provider." If you have out of network benefits, you pay for sessions at the time they are provided, and then we provide you a "superbill" to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement according to the benefits of your plan.
You can determine your out-of-network benefits by calling the customer service / mental health number on the back of your insurance card. Ask what the reimbursement rate is for an out-of-network LPC and for any information you need to know regarding how to submit statements for reimbursement.
We are happy to assist you by providing any information necessary for your insurance company to process your claim.
All sessions are 50 minutes in length.
*Disclaimer: For you to be covered by insurance, a diagnosis must be given. Insurance is a for profit system. Therefore, insurance companies require a diagnosis so they can deem your session as medically necessary for coverage.
